Jerry Conrad

MA, CSP, DTM

When it comes to the world of public speaking, there are two credentials that really matter; the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association, and the Distinguished Toastmaster designation from Toastmasters International. Not only does Jerry Conrad hold both of these distinctions, but in 1995, he became the first person in NSA history to do so.

Add to this unusual set of qualifications a client list that includes the FBI National Training Academy, the top law enforcement officers from seven counties and three continents, Domino’s PizzaSpectrum HealthPaineWebberFord Motor Company and you will begin to have an idea of what type of public speaker Jerry Conrad is.

In addition, Jerry is also the former president of the National Speakers Association of Michigan, and the CEO and founder of SG Maverick, based in Muskegon, Michigan. He has delivered over one thousand professional speeches and has carefully studied the methods of hundreds of other professional speakers.  Jerry is also a faculty member at Muskegon Community College.

But Jerry Conrad hasn’t always been this successful. When he graduated from high school, he was in the bottom twenty percent of his class and spent the next few years just barely getting by. But after a weeklong hospital stay resulting from his toxic lifestyle, Jerry decided to drastically rethink his attitude toward life and his behavior.

His life changed. It started Jerry along the path leading to the successes. Jerry credits his US Army experience serving as a non-commissioned officer in charge of a classified weapons squad for the 2nd Infantry Division as the benchmark for his enduring can-do attitude and strong self-discipline.

Today, Jerry takes joy in sharing his hard won communication and wellness experience with others. He is a published author, a brown belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, the recipient of a Bachelor’s Degree from Grand Valley State University, and the recipient of a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University.
